The Art of the Cold Call: Building Relationships Through Service

In an age of automation, email campaigns, and direct messages, it's fair to ask: has the phone call become obsolete?

I come from a time when if you wanted to connect with someone, you found the phone number and made the call.

No automation.
No mass marketing campaign.
No hidden agenda.

Just a conversation.

As I continue building relationships within healthcare and the community, I've noticed something interesting. When I call businesses, healthcare providers, community organizations, or local leaders to learn about events, partnerships, resources, or ways we can support one another, people are often surprised.

One of the first questions I hear is:

"How much money are you asking for?"

When I explain that I'm simply looking to collaborate, share resources, support an event, or connect individuals and families with helpful services, the conversation often shifts. Skepticism turns into appreciation.

Perhaps that's because we're so accustomed to being sold something that we've forgotten the value of simply building relationships.

At Anasa Home Health, we believe meaningful partnerships are built through genuine human connection. While technology has made communication faster and more convenient, it can never fully replace the trust that comes from a real conversation.

Some of the best opportunities I've encountered didn't come from a marketing campaign or a perfectly crafted email. They came from picking up the phone, listening, and approaching others with a service mindset.

Whether in healthcare, business, or community outreach, one principle remains true: adding value never goes out of style.

Strong communities are built through relationships, and relationships begin with conversation.

Community • Teamwork • Unity
